Massacre Memorial, St Pierre-de-Jonquet, Normandy
This dramatic Memorial, in the shape of figures tied to an execution post, commemorates 28 French civilians shot by the Germans for hiding British paratroops. It was unveiled on 15 November 1957. The bodies of 11 Unknown victims are buried in the nearby churchyard
