Postcard drawing titled Hildegard Breiner by Willrich
Wolf Willrich had been appointed as one of the arbiters of degenerate art, and his own work was above suspicion. His portraits show sturdy, sober, worthy, healthy German peasant types, of the kind found desirable by Darre (q.v.), Hitler's first Minister of Agriculture, and founder of the RUSHA (Service of Race and Settlement). Wilirich's series, Deutscher Blutadel in Aller Welt (Aristocracy of German Blood throughout the World) was the pictorial expression of Darre's concepts. The postcard reproductions were sold in aid of the VDA, Volksbund fur das Deutschtum im Ausland (League of Ex-patriate Germans). The reverse carries the line The thorobreds of the eternal state
