President Daladier signing the Munich Agreement

The principals and their aides assembled in a room overglooking the Koenig's Platz in Munich, shortly after midday on 29 September. As no chairman had been nominated, Mussolini gradually assumed a co-ordinating role, since he could speak all the languages involved - Italian, German, French and English. Discussions went on all afternoon and into the evening, and it was not until the small hours of 30 September that an agreed document was produced. Hitler got everything he wanted. The evacuation of the Czechs from the Sudetenland was to begin the following day, 1 October. Here Daladier is signing the Agreement
