Stalhelm promotional and Commemorative card, Munich
When Hitler became Chancellor in 1933 thousands of Stalhelm members marched in celebration under the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, side by side with the SA and the SS. In 1937 the Prince of Wales, as Patron of the Royal British Legion, suggested that the Legion should visit Germany to stretch forth the hand of friendship and the Stalhelm joined other German ex-service organisations in welcoming the idea. Field Marshal Kesselring served as Chairman of the Stahlhelm after WW2.This card was produced for Frontline Soldiers Day 1-2 June 1929
