A symbolic handshake & eagle Party Day Nuremberg 1933
The first party rally had been held in January 1923, the day of the ill-fated putsch. Here, ten years later, the 5th rally (the first that Hitler attended as Chancellor) was held. Suitably named The Party Day of Victory, it lasted from 1 to 7 September, with parades involving over 150, 000 uniformed men. During the ceremony the Blood Flag was paraded and new standards consecrated. Hitler decreed that in future all central party rallies would be held in Nuremberg and ordered special arenas to be constructed. On the second day he gave his personal SS bodyguard unit a new name - SS Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler. The card says in effect One people - strong nation
