View of Pegasus Bridge, Gondree Cafs & gun pit
This view is from the east bank of the Orne Canal, (the side where the gliders landed). The Gondree Caf is on the left and the German gun pit and the bridge are on the right. The first glider landings were made here under the Command of former Oxford policeman Major John Howard. There are several memorials in the area including a bust of Major Howard
