Paul Federn

Paul Federn, Austrian-American psychologist. Influenced by Sigmund Freud's Interpretation of Dreams, he devoted himself to the field of psychoanalysis from 1904, becoming an official representative of Freud in 1924. In 1938 he emigrated to America and settled in New York City, working at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. He is mostly remembered for his theories on ego psychology and the therapeutic treatment of psychosis. He was also interested in social psychology
