Satirical cartoon, A Bundle of Straw. A comment on the fashion for strawplait, showing a bulging figure sprouting into rich arabesques of jewellery made out of corn, feathers and flowers. Also a comment on scarcity, this design shows a woman making do, decorating herself using materials to hand: in place of a feather a bundle of straw, in place of a tiara a string of daffodils
