Satirical cartoon, Between two stools the Bottom goes to the Ground. George Tierney falls between two stools, a tattered Whig Stool and a smart Tory Stool'. Amused and standing on either side are Fox and Addington. The Opposition MP Tierney wanted an office under Addington but was reluctant to be the only Whig to join him. He failed to induce the Foxite and Portland Whigs to join him and was criticised as a traitor
