Satirical cartoon, Interrogatories or an examination
Satirical cartoon, Interrogatories or an examination before the commissioners. Four commissioners are examining the claims of various women who are owed money by the Prince of Wales. On the table is a huge pile of papers showing various amounts. Among the figures Mrs Fitz and Morning Post can be made out. The woman in the centre, wearing a miniature of the Prince round her neck, has torn her bill in disgust and has, it seems, been turned down. Another woman holds a particularly large bill that stretches to some yards. The payment of the Prince's debts was embodied in an Act of Parliament. Commissioners were appointed to examine his creditors and to hold regular courts
