Satirical cartoon, John Bulls hint for a profitable alliance. The Prince of Wales bows before the Empress of Russia, Catherine the Great, quoting Falstaff: Oh what a thing it is to be in Love'. John Bull (left) comments: There my Lad is a fine buxom Widow...'. The Prince was desperate for his father to increase his income and promised to marry the Princess of Brunswick, a good dynastic marriage. The absurd implication of the print is that the Prince should even consider marrying the Russian Empress. The echoing of Falstaff in love underlines the Prince's insincerity
