Satirical cartoon, Love's Last Shift. The Prince of Wales and Mrs Fitzherbert sit facing each other in a domestic interior. She mends a pair of breeches while he rocks a cradle by pulling a string. The Prince is portrayed in poverty and making do without his staff. The title derives from Colley Cibber's play, Love's Last Shift, or the Fool in Fashion (1696)
