Alarm - Die Sudost-Illustrierte, No. 9, August 1942. Rare multilingual wartime illustrated magazine published in German, Italian and Croatian for the Axis-controlled territories of former Yugoslavia. Produced during the German, Italian and Ustasa occupation, the magazine combines reports from the Eastern Front with articles on agriculture, regional culture, Bosnian Muslims, the Caucasus campaign, and anti-Soviet and anti-British propaganda. The cover shows members of the Ustasa movement assisting farmers during the harvest, presented as a symbol of the 'new Croatia'. A scarce example of regional Axis occupation-period illustrated journalism from southeastern Europe during the Second World War
