Der Angriff Issue 72 - special propaganda broadsheet
Der Angriff - Special reprint from Issue 72, 26 March 1941. Large-format propaganda broadside reproducing an editorial by Robert Ley, Reich Organisation Leader of the NSDAP, entitled 'England wird fallen!' ('England Will Fall!'). Published as a special supplement to the Berlin Nazi newspaper Der Angriff, the leaflet argues that Britain's defeat was inevitable despite the recently enacted American Lend-Lease programme, dismissing US military assistance as a futile 'bluff' orchestrated by leading Jewish figures in the Roosevelt administration. Typical of wartime Nazi propaganda, the text combines predictions of German military superiority with antisemitic conspiracy theories and claims that Allied industrial production could never match Germany's war effort. This particular example bears extensive handwritten comments in English directly challenging the article's assertions, together with an airmail label and postal markings, suggesting it was sent abroad and read critically by an English-speaking recipient. As such, it survives not only as a propaganda publication but also as evidence of contemporary engagement with Nazi wartime messaging
