Arbeiter-Illustrierte-Zeitung (AIZ), Prague exile edition featuring John Heartfield cover photomontage 'Mimikry', 1933. Rare reduced-format issue of the anti-fascist illustrated weekly AIZ published after the magazine was forced to flee Germany following the Nazi seizure of power. The cover, designed by John Heartfield, satirises Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels by depicting Hitler disguised with a Karl Marx beard beneath the title 'Mimikry'. Published in Prague after the suppression of AIZ in Berlin, the issue contains anti-Nazi articles on militarisation, industry, labour policy and political repression.
