Book celebrating the work done by young women

Dass die Arbeit Freude werde! (That Work Becomes Joy!), 1938 photobook on the female RAD labor service draft. The RAD was the Women's Reich Labour Service - Reichsarbeitsdienst and the Arbeitsmaiden, literally Labour Maidens, essentially young women who participated in the Reich Labour Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst which was abbreviated and more commonly known as RAD. This is a first print edition with a foreword by Reich Labor Leader Konstantin Hierl and a preface by General Labor Leader Dr. Herbert Schmeidler. It also has a hand written dedication by a labor camp leader with camp name and number (Possneck-Thuringia) to a drafted girl. The pictures show their labor, drill, sports, ideological instructions and celebrations. It was published by eitgeschichte-Verlag Andermann, Berlin, who also published the Heinrich Hoffmann photographic books and is therefore in the same style and size as these with 64 pages of photographs
