Darum Frauen: Wahlt!' Election Poster
Darum Frauen: Wahlt!' Women's Suffrage Election Poster, Germany, 1918. Rare German election poster designed by Martha Jager and issued following the November Revolution of 1918, which granted women the right to vote for the first time. Featuring the slogan 'Eure Kinder brauchen Frieden und Brot' ('Your children need Peace and Bread') and 'Darum Frauen: Wahlt!' ('Therefore, Women: Vote!'), the poster encouraged female participation in the forthcoming National Assembly elections of January 1919. A significant document of early women's suffrage and post-First World War political change in Germany. Berlin, 1918
