Die Pause, 4th Year (1939), No 7 - A prestigious high-end Austrian, Vienna-based art and culture publication covering theatre, art, music, literature, film, lifestyle etc. Die Pause (The Break or The Pause) was originally not NS related but came out first in 1935 with the purpose of being a catholic union magazine which would entertain/inform workers in a non-marxist way as marxist and national-socialist publications were banned under the Schuschnigg regime. It radically changed its style after the Anschluss as the publisher tried to come to terms with the new NS administration. It ceased in August 1944 like many other publications as paper rations were cut down
