Flammenzeichen - Volkisch newspaper

Flammenzeichen ('Flame Sign'), rare volkisch weekly newspaper published in Stuttgart, December 1938. The front cover features a series of political cartoons under the heading Zwei Seelen - ein Weihnachtswunsch ('Two Souls - One Christmas Wish'), pairing prominent public figures, foreign politicians, journalists and states in a satirical commentary reflecting contemporary National Socialist attitudes towards international affairs. Described as an independent weekly publication, Flammenzeichen combined nationalist, antisemitic and anti-Catholic themes with political commentary, cartoons and opinion pieces. Interior articles discuss concepts of Greater Germany, national identity, the SA, military values and contemporary political developments.
