Kriegsweihnachten Ostfront - Christmas brochure

Kriegsweihnachten Ostfront 1943 - large sized (A4) Christmas gift brochure for soldiers at the front in Russia. Printed in Riga in the German occupied Baltics and published by a propaganda company of the army based at lake Ilmen. At Lake Ilmen (in between Leningrad and Moscow) the 16th Army was deployed as part of army group north. All war art in the brochure is by the fairly well known war artist Wilhelm Martin Busch (who was part of the 16th army propaganda company). The main opening article describes what Weihnachten / Yule means for soldiers of NS Germany and was written by Walter Grundmann, who was an interesting character. His profession was being a theology professor at Jena university where he de-christianised holidays like Christmas and Easter and gave religious-ethical arguments for the final solution.
