Nationalsozialistische Landpost - Sunday supplement
Nationalsozialistische Landpost - Bilder-Beilage, illustrated Sunday supplement to the official newspaper of the Reich Food Estate (Reichsnahrstand) and the NSDAP Office for Agricultural Policy, published in Berlin, 5 August 1934. The cover features a pastoral photograph entitled Liebliche Gabe des Sommers ('Lovely Gift of Summer'), showing a young woman gathering wildflowers in a rural meadow. Inside, the supplement presents a mixture of photo-features typical of National Socialist illustrated journalism, including reports on contemporary events, commemorations of the outbreak of the First World War twenty years earlier, athletic women exemplifying ideals of health and physical fitness, and articles celebrating rural life and German folk traditions. The publication reflects the regime's use of photography and popular illustrated media to promote ideals of youth, beauty, physical culture and attachment to the countryside. Germany, 1934
