Unser Heer, illustrated magazine of the German Army High Command (OKH), April/May 1944 special issue. Wartime issue of Unser Heer featuring a cover photograph of Hitler Youth boys receiving machine-gun instruction from a decorated German soldier. Published by the Oberkommando des Heeres, the magazine contains illustrated articles on military operations, combat actions and army life, including a dramatic feature on Stosstrupp-Unternehmen 'Michael' ('Assault Detachment Operation Michael'). The issue reflects the increasing emphasis placed on youth training and military preparedness during the later stages of the Second World War
