The cover picture caption reads: After skiing, a warm room feels good, and dinner needs a hearty fire. So, plenty of wood is needed in the house, and that's where the boys from the Steiner camp in Ramsau quickly grab hold of it. The Kinderlandverschickung (KLV) was a Nazi-era program in Germany that involved evacuating children from cities to rural areas during World War II. While presented as a measure to protect children from wartime dangers like bombing raids, the program also had a strong ideological component, aiming to indoctrinate youth with Nazi values. An estimated 2.5 million children participated in the KLV and involved establishing KLV camps where children lived under the supervision of teachers and subjected to activities and educational programs formulated by the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth)
