Nationalsozialistische Landpost - Sunday supplement

Cover of the illustrated Sunday supplement issued with Nationalsozialistische Landpost, the official newspaper of the Reich Food Estate (Reichsnahrstand) and the Agricultural Policy Office of the NSDAP. Published on 22 July 1934, the eight-page supplement appeared as a pictorial companion to the weekly newspaper, combining photography, current affairs and political imagery for a rural readership. The cover features a large portrait of Adolf Hitler delivering a speech, accompanied by the quotation: Ein mundig Regiment soll ein altes und krankes Idolum beseitigt...' The image presents Hitler as the embodiment of national leadership and renewal, reflecting the increasingly central role of the Fuhrer cult within National Socialist propaganda during 1934. Inside, illustrated spreads entitled Fuhrer und Volk' ('Leader and People') depict Hitler among cheering crowds, travelling through Germany, meeting supporters and addressing public gatherings. The photographic layout emphasises the personal connection between leader and nation, a recurring theme of National Socialist visual culture. Other images portray party ceremonies, mass rallies and scenes of public enthusiasm intended to demonstrate national unity and popular support. Published only weeks after the Night of the Long Knives and shortly before President Paul von Hindenburg's death in August 1934, the supplement appeared during a crucial phase in Hitler's consolidation of power, when the regime increasingly promoted his image as the unquestioned leader of Germany
